This year marks the 40th business anniversary of the opening of Cooks’ World, a Rochester, NY-based independent gourmet housewares store. The retail outlet, which was passed down from founder George Wiedemer to his son, Chris Wiedemer, is celebrating the milestone all year with special events, sales, contests and more.
Cooks’ World was recently featured on local news show, Good Day Rochester, to talk about its business, how shopping small is more important now than before and some of the staples of its store through the year.
Reporter Ashely Doerzbacher also took viewers on a tour of the store, showcasing its cutlery, cookware, shelf stable goods and other housewares stocked by the retailer.
“For the person who loves to cook, it’s like a candy store,” said Wiedemer of his shop.
